The Costume Gallery Presents:

A Year in Fashion:1920

"Flapper Era Fashions"
Daywear: Dress #5

The bodice, with vestee, combined with a straight tunic open in the front, gives the effect of a redingote frock. There is a drop skirt, a French body lining and the back comes over the shoulder and has the front gathered to it.

Use satin, crepe de Chine, taffeta, charmeuse, or crepe meteor.

The original Butterick pattern number in 1920 was #2654 for the shirt waist and #2655 for the skirt. Embroidery on the dress was from pattern #10855. This model's hat has netting over her face.
